The Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte at the University of Puerto Rico’s Río Piedras Campus

The MAHA has played an important role in preserving the artistic legacy of Francisco Romero Areyzaga. As stewards of several of his remarkable dioramas, the Museo has safeguarded works that offer a rare glimpse into both Francisco’s artistry and the Puerto Rican life and culture he sought to capture in miniature. Their preservation of these pieces has made it possible for Francisco’s descendants, researchers, and future generations to rediscover and better understand his work more than a century later.
We are deeply grateful to the Museo and its staff for their care of these extraordinary pieces and for their assistance as we continue to uncover Francisco’s story.
